UAE startups raised about USD 2 billion in 2025 (Wamda, January 2026).
The playbooks you are reading were written for San Francisco and London, not the Gulf.
Saaspreneur Gulf is a cited reference on how software companies get funded, staffed, structured, and sold in the United Arab Emirates. Researched from the outside, sourced in the open, built for founders who need the local specifics.
What's inside
Cornerstone guides.
Long, structured references on funding, hiring, corporate tax, free zones, and go-to-market for a UAE software company, with every figure cited inline and dated.
The UAE SaaS company directory.
A curated and growing list of software companies operating in the UAE, each with what it does, where it is based, and the source the entry was built from.
The article feed.
Shorter pieces on the same subjects, published as the research is finished rather than on a weekly slot, so nothing goes out half-checked to hit a schedule.
Founder interviews, coming later.
Recorded conversations with people running UAE software companies. This section is planned, not live yet, and the site will not pretend otherwise until it is.
Who it's for
You are building or running a SaaS company and the UAE is on your map. Maybe you already operate there and you want the funding, hiring, tax, and free-zone picture in one place. Maybe you run a UK company and a Gulf entity is the next step. Maybe you are in the US or Europe and weighing a move. The UAE was projected to be 2024's top destination for migrating millionaires, with a net inflow of about 6,700 dollar millionaires (Henley & Partners / New World Wealth, June 2024), and you want to know what that shift means for a software business.
Who it's not for
If you want quick answers with no caveats, this will frustrate you. Every figure here is qualified and dated, and some questions are left open because the public data does not settle them.
If you need legal or tax advice for your own company, this is not that. The site cites the rules. It does not apply them to your situation, and it is no substitute for your accountant or your lawyer.
If you are set on a market outside the UAE and the Gulf is a passing curiosity, most of this will not be worth your time.
The honest bit
This site is early. The directory is short, the guide list is still growing, and there is no traffic to boast about.
It is also researched and written from outside the UAE, by someone who is not based in the Emirates and has not founded a SaaS company that reached scale. So it does not hand you advice or war stories. It aggregates public sources, shows every one of them, and checks each number before it gets published. Anything that cannot be confirmed on a public page is left out.
If you find an error, the About page has the correction path. Fixes are made in public and dated.
